Genetic Testing Hormone Testing
Have you ever wondered or wish there was a test you can take that could tell you exactly what your body needs? What if I told you that test exists? Most people go through their life with a supplemental deficiency experiencing one or more symptoms including fatigue, muscle loss, weight gain, thinning hair, saggy skin, lack of interest & motivation these are just some. Most people including myself has experienced this. Around 2018 & near 40 my body went into what I would call haywire mode.
Granted during this time I had allot going on in my life & I was not taking the greatest care of myself in several areas including nutrition & exercise. I went to my family doctor, explained what was going on & how I felt they then said I had anxiety. Sure I did to some degree & my palpitations where very concerning. I was prescribed anxiety meds (Which I Did Not Take) Having a background in health & fitness I knew anxiety medicine was not the answer or cure. After several doctor visits & getting a full plethora of tests everything THANKFULLY came back just fine.
This still did not answer my questions to why my body was out of whack until I got my hormones tested AKA (endocrine system) tested. This is 1 of many test I had done including a Vitamin Panel. During this time I was also water fasting which was great for my IBS & overall health. This tremendously helped with that but water fasting was stripping my body of the important vitamins & minerals it like everyone else desperately needs?
This was when I found out my Magnesium levels where low, after doing some personal research of my own I found out the importance of magnesium along with the roles it plays in the human body, such as heart health, blood pressure, gut issues & even helping with anxiety. Now there are different forms of magnesium that offer a wide range of benefits that can be discussed later in a free supplement consultation but this vitamin/electrolyte is crucial to your body.
Over the last several years there has been a huge buzz in the health & wellness space on Genetic Methylation Testing. This maybe something you have heard of but not sure what it is or this just might be the first time you have heard of this & your wondering what the h3!! is a genetic methylation test. No prob we have you covered.
- MTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase): Plays a crucial role in converting folate into its active form, necessary for methylation.
- MTRR (Methionine synthase reductase): Helps recycle vitamin B12, which is essential for the methylation process.
- MTR (Methionine synthase): Directly converts homocysteine to methionine, a key step in the methylation cycle.
- AHCY (Adenosine homocysteine S-methyltransferase): Another enzyme involved in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine.
- COMT (Catechol-O-methyltransferase): Primarily involved in the breakdown of neurotransmitters like dopamine, which is also influenced by methylation.
This along with getting your Hormones/Endocrine System checked is going to put you on track. What’s the difference between them? Glad you asked!
A genetic methylation test examines the epigenetic modifications on DNA, which can affect gene expression, while an endocrine test measures the activity of endocrine glands by analyzing hormone levels.
